PERANCANGAN PROSES PRODUKSI KENDARAAN GARDAPATI PROTOTYPE MENGGUNAKAN METODE DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURING AND ASSEMBLY (DFMA)

Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi (KMHE) and Shell Eco Marathon Asia (SEMA)
contests are competitions to build the most fuel-efficient vehicles that are
participated by students from all over Indonesia and even the world. The
Selembayung team is the only representative of Riau University who participated
in the KMHE and SEMA competitions.
The design process and manufacturing production management have an
important role in the manufacture of prototype energy-efficient vehicles that have
been made by students of the Riau University Selembayung Team. The process of
making this prototype vehicle was carried out using the concept of Design for
Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). This DFMA concept is related to the
number of components, assembly time, and manufacturing costs. This research is
expected to result in increased assembly efficiency, reduced manufacturing costs
and reduced number of components of the prototype vehicle.
