KAJI EKSPERIMENTAL KINERJA LOOP HEAT PIPE DENGAN FLUIDA KERJA REFRIGERAN R290
The problem of cooling electronic components is increasing along with component
damage that occurs, one of which is caused by heat flux generates by the processor.
Loop heat pipe is a heat pipe that is flowed by two phases of a loop ype heat pipe
whose heat is in the same direction. Loop heat pipe has the advantages of large heat
transfer, high heat efficiency and strong resistance to gravity. Refrigerant is a medium
(fluid) that can absorb heat by evaporation at low temperature and pressure and
realease heat by condensing at high temperature and pressure. This research was
conducted using a loop type heat pipe with a wick screen mesh 100 with a varying
filling ratio and working angle on the evaporator. The temperatur difference value at
the input power is 12 Watt with a filling ratio of 50% and working angle 0° is 19,1
°C. The highest effectiveness of the loop heat pipe is at an input power of 12 Watt at a
working angle 90° with 21,49%. Comparison of the effectiveness of the heat pipe loop
can be analyzed that R290 refrigerant has better effectiveness than R32 refrigerant.
This can happen because R290 is able to distribute heat well throughout the heat pipe
loop so that it can increase cooling effectiveness. R290 has a lower temperature
difference compared to R32, this causes the thermal resistance to be lower so that it
can increase heat transfer efficiency in loop heat pipe applications. By doing this
research is obtain that the working angle affects the temperature difference and the
effectiveness of the loop heat pipe.
