Pengembangan Alat Permainan Edukatif Blending Board Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Membaca Permulaan Pada Anak Usia 5-6 Tahun
The Blending Board media was developed to address the issue of 5-6 years old children who should have reached the early reading stage but have not yet achieved this level. The low reading ability among children is due to a lack of interest in reading activities and the limited appeal of the learning materials available for young children. The primary purpose of developing this media is to enhance early reading skills in 5-6-year-olds through the use of an educational tool known as the Blending Board. This tool includes an LED board programmed to form various letters that, when combined, create words. The research utilized a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE development method (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The development stages involved needs analysis and observation, product redesign, product development and validation, product testing, and final evaluation. The study results indicate that the Blending Board media is highly effective in improving early reading skills in 5-6-year-old children, with validation scores from material experts (93%), media experts (94%), educators (96%), and limited trials (97%). Therefore, the Blending Board is recommended as a learning tool to enhance early reading abilities in children aged 5-6 years.
