Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Reciprocal Learning Pada Materi Pemanasan Global Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Siswa
21st century skills are abilities that every student must have, consisting of 4 competencies which include creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration or often called 4C skills. 21st century skills in terms of problem solving abilities are one of the focuses of physics learning. However, the quality of students' problem solving abilities is still relatively low. Students' failure in solving problems can be caused by several things. In the learning process, there is a possibility that students will not understand the material well. Apart from that, problem solving abilities that are not optimal are also caused by learning with the same and boring presentation. So students have difficulty working on questions in the form of stories, students are less systematic in solving problems and pay less attention to the steps in solving them. Students are only able to solve simple problems but the ability to understand and solve problems that involve reasoning is still lacking. One of the appropriate learning models to solve the problem of low problem solving abilities is the reciprocal learning model.
This research aims to describe the effect of applying the reciprocal learning model in improving students' problem solving abilities on global warming material. Apart from that, this research aims to determine the effectiveness of science learning through the application of the reciprocal learning model in improving students' problem solving abilities at MTS Al-Qasimiyah Sorek Satu.
This research uses a quasi-experimental type of research with a posttest only control group design. The population in this study included 5 classes, namely classes VII A to VII E, then 2 classes were chosen randomly. In this case, class VII D was chosen as the control group which was given conventional learning, while class VII E was the experimental group which received treatment in the form of reciprocal learning. Research data was collected by giving a problem-solving ability test after carrying out global warming material learning in the two sample classes. This test is structured based on indicators of problem solving ability which consist of 4 indicators which are translated into 5 question items.
The research data is in the form of posttest results on problem solving abilities which are processed quantitatively and displayed in the form of tables and bar charts to see the increase in problem solving abilities between the control class and the experimental class by analyzing using the t-test. The descriptive research results show that the experimental group has an average score of The average problem solving ability is higher compared to the group control. Meanwhile, based on inferential analysis using the t-test, a significance value or Sig was obtained. (2- tailed) < 0.05. This shows that there are differences in the problem solving abilities of the experimental group and the control group.
Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the application of the reciprocal learning model is considered effective in improving students' problem solving abilities in global warming material at MTS Al-Qasimiyah Sorek Satu. It is hoped that the results of this research can become a reference in carrying out learning activities in schools, especially in efforts to improve students' problem solving abilities in science subjects.
