Komunikasi Virtual Cyberbullying Melalui Perilaku Trash Talking Pada Pemain Game Online Valorant

Trash Talking is a form of cyberbullying that usually contains violent words. This trash talk phenomenon often occurs in internet gaming stalls such as White Wolf Arena. Trash talking is a moral pollution that corrupts the online gaming community. In the context of games, trash talk and toxic refer to acts that are harmful, inappropriate, and toxic, such as sarcasm, insults, or verbal abuse of other players. The media that is usually used to carry out trash talk behavior is through the intermediary of voice message or text message features that can communicate between individuals or also individuals with groups that interact through computers in the internet network or virtual world. Virtual communication that occurs on computers connected to the internet is anonymous, which means an unknown identity. Anonymity can be the cause of trash talking, trolling and away from keyboard (AFK) behavior. The vocabulary of trash talking varies such as animal words, adjectives, nouns, words of a person's condition, and words of human body organs. The purpose of this study is to analyze trash talking behavior in Valorant online game players.
This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The informants of this study consisted of 7 informants who met the criteria selected using the Purposive Technique, namely Valorant online game players Ridho, Galih, Fauzan, Andika, Diki, Ryan and Nabil. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, observations and documentation. As well as data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman, as well as data validity verification techniques with extension of participation and source tringulation, triangulation techniques.
The results of the study showed that there was trash talking behavior in the valorant game consisting of three problem identifications, namely, the use of the computer of valorant game players, this identification explains hardware, software, computer user behavior openly or closed and factors that affect trash talking such as sociopsychological and situational factors. The next identification explains the form of media used by online valorant game players in communicating such as through voice chat, text chat, chat sticker features and in this media section also explains the limitations of communication or trash talking in the online valorant game. The last identification is virtual communication that explains player communication in the online game valorant, trash talking vocabulary, and player trash talking conversations.
