Keanekaragaman Pisang Di Kecamatan Pangean, Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi Berdasarkan Karakter Morfologi Dan Penanda Scar Terpaut Resistensi Terhadap Foc Tr4
Banana (Musa sp.) is one of the most popular fruits Indonesia showing various benefits and a great genetic diversity. Banana plants are inevitably threatened by plant pathogens particularly Fusarium oxysporum f.sp cubense TR4 (Foc TR4) causing Fusarium wilt disease. Purpose of this study was to analyze diversity of bananas in Pangean, Kuantan Singingi using morphological characters and SCAR markers linked to Foc TR4 resistance. Morphological characters were evaluated based on Banana Descriptor and subsequently were analyzed by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) using PAST 4.03 software. Amplification used two SCAR (Sequence Characterized Amplified Region) primers (ScaS0901 and ScaU1001). The results showed that there are four main components (KU1, KU2, KU3, KU4) that produce 100% variance. Morphological characters that predominantly contribute to the diversity are pseudostem color and number of suckers. Amplification results showed that both of SCAR primers successfully amplified all five banana genotypes (kape, batu, timah, lidi dan buai). These results, indicate that the five banana genotypes potentially resistant to pathogenic fungi Foc TR4. These result can be used as fundamental information for developing banana genotypes that are resistant to Foc TR4.
Key findings: Banana (Musa sp.), Foc TR4, Morphology character, Principal Component Analysis, SCAR.
