Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Etanol Daun Mangga (Mangifera Indica L.) Terhadap Kadar Asam Urat Dan Kolesterol Darah Pada Tikus Putih (Rattus Novergicus B.) Galur Wistar
High purin foods will increase uric acid and cause joints pain. Huge amount of food fat will increase cholesterol and potentially to cause cardiovascular disease. Long term used synthetic medicines to lower uric acid and cholesterol will have side effects, so herbal medicines are needed. The mango leaves use known contain flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, steroid, and tannin compounds which can reduce uric acid and cholesterol levels. This research aims to see the effect of mango leaf extract on reducing uric acid and cholesterol also to determine the levels of uric acid and cholesterol in the blood of male white rats. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments, namely control without giving mango leaf extract (P0), 0.02 ml (P1), 0.04 ml (P2), and 0.08 ml of mango leaf extract (P3). Data were analyzed using One Way ANOVA and Duncan's advanced test (DMRT). The results of the study showed that administration of mango leaf extract did not significantly reduce the levels of uric acid and cholesterol in white rats. The conclusion from this research is administration of the extract had small effect on reducing uric acid and cholesterol in white rats.
