Pengaruh Model Project Based Learning Berbasis Steam Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Ipas
In this research, there is a problem that researchers often encounter, namely the lack of students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of research surveys in the form of interviews and data obtained by researchers at SD IT Milatul Khoir Pekanbaru, it shows that students' critical thinking abilities at this school are still low. This is proven by the results of interviews conducted with the principal and homeroom teacher as well as data on test scores of students who did not reach the KKM. Data on the low critical thinking abilities of students is also supported by the results of the Program For International Student Assessment (PISA) Survey in 2018 which showed that students' critical thinking abilities in Indonesia are still low, Indonesia ranks 74th out of 79 countries. From this survey, it was ranked in the bottom 10 in various categories starting from 2009-2018. This happens because teachers often use lecture methods that only focus on the teacher and the whiteboard which results in students' thinking abilities not developing. This research uses quantitative methods in the form of quasi-experiments. Researchers used 2 classes, namely the control class and the experimental class to compare the effect of STEAM-based Project Based Learning Model learning with conventional learning. The instrument in this research is test questions in the form of multiple choices. At the beginning the researcher gave pre-test questions to the control class and experimental class and at the end of the lesson the researcher gave post-test questions. This was done so that researchers know how STEAM-based Project Based Learning influences students' critical thinking abilities and the differences in critical thinking abilities of students who do not use the STEAM-based Project Based Learning model. The results of this research show that students' critical thinking abilities have increased by using the STEAM-based Project Based Learning Model. The N-Gain score obtained in the experimental class was 56.95%, which was included in the moderate/effective category. Meanwhile, the average increase in the control class was 25.83%, which was included in the low/less effective category.
