Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Etanol Daun Mangga (Mangifera Indica L.) Terhadap Profil Darah Tikus Putih (Rattus Novergicus B.) Galur Wistar
Mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.) are a type of the plants that is often found and has many benefits. The compounds contained in mango leaves include flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of administering ethanol extract of mango leaves on the blood profile of Wistar white rats. The study used a completely randomized design with treatments P0 (Control), P1 (0.02 ml), P2 (0.04 ml), P3 (0.08 ml). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The research was conducted for 7 days and divided into 4 treatments with 4 replications for each treatments. Giving ethanol extract of mango leaves with 0.02 ml treatment has the effect of increasing the number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin, hematocrit, and treatment with 0.04 ml decreases the number of leukocytes, lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes. The increase in blood cells is suspected of the presence of active polyphenol compounds in mango leaf extract which can increase erythropoiesis.
Key finding: Mango leaves (Mangifera indica L.), blood profile, ethanol extract, rats (Rattus norvegicus).
