Pengembangan Modul Pembelajaran Teks Poster Bermuatan Budaya Melayu Riau Untuk Siswa Kelas VIII MTs
This research is motivated by the problems that exist in schools, namely the lack of availability of teaching materials. The main teaching materials used by grade VIII MTsN 4 Kampar students are student worksheets (LKS), while the supporting teaching materials are school textbooks that are lent during learning. Referring to this problem, the researcher developed teaching materials in the form of modules on poster text material by integrating Riau Malay culture in it. The basis for selecting poster text material is based on observations of grade VIII textbooks and LKS, poster text material is not discussed in depth. The discussion is still dominated by advertising text material.
This research is a research and development (R&D) entitled Development of Poster Text Learning Modules Containing Riau Malay Culture for Grade VIII MTs Students. The formulation of the problem in this study is (1) what is the need for a learning module for poster texts containing Riau Malay culture for class VIII MTs students? (2) how is the design and development of a learning module for poster texts containing Riau Malay culture for class VIII MTs students? (3) how is the implementation of a learning module for poster texts containing Riau Malay culture for class VIII MTs students? (4) how is the evaluation of a learning module for poster texts containing Riau Malay culture for class VIII MTs students?
Furthermore, the objectives of the study are, first, to describe the need for a learning module for poster texts containing Malay culture. Second, to produce and describe the design and development of a learning module for poster texts containing Malay culture. Third, to find out and describe the implementation of a learning module for poster texts containing Malay culture. Fourth, to find out and describe the evaluation of a learning module for poster texts containing Riau Malay culture.
The benefits of this study are for students, it can help students in achieving learning goals because students are given teaching materials that are in accordance with the conditions and needs of students. For teachers, this study produces a module that can be used by teachers as a support for learning poster texts. In addition, it can also increase teachers' insight into developing teaching materials that are useful for supporting the learning process so that it is easier for teachers and students to achieve learning objectives. For other researchers, this study can be a reference in developing teaching materials in the form of modules.
The research was conducted at MTsN 4 Kampar, starting from July 2023 to December 2023. The approach used is the research and development (R&D) method, which is a research method used to produce and test the effectiveness of certain products. The
type of product development in this study carries the concept of the ADDIE design model. ADDIE is an acronym for the words Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The population in this study was six study groups (180 students), but the sample was 33 students (one study group). Furthermore, the data collection technique was through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and conducting tests in the form of pretests and posttests. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive data analysis techniques, qualitative data analysis techniques, and the use of inferential statistics.
Based on the research and development carried out, it is known that the analysis of the needs of the Riau Malay cultural poster text learning module is categorized as very much needed. Furthermore, based on the high level of need, the researcher designed a product in the form of a module and then developed it. The product that had been developed was validated or tested for feasibility by expert validators. Overall, the validation results of the Riau Malay cultural poster text learning module were categorized as very good and could be tested. The trial was conducted on 33 students of class VIII MTsN 4 Kampar. Based on the results of the trial in the form of pretest and posttest scores, it was found that there was a significant difference. There was an increase in students' knowledge and skills in learning poster texts after using the module. Finally, at the evaluation stage, an evaluation was carried out based on the assessment of expert validators, the assessment of Indonesian language teachers, and student assessments. Overall, the assessment of the three aspects was categorized as very good so that the Riau Malay cultural poster text learning module was suitable for use in learning poster texts.
