Peran Kbri Bangkok Dalam Upaya Repatriasi Korban Perdagangan Manusia Asal Indonesia Di Thailand
Human trafficking is one of the most profitable transnational crimes, with significant social and economic impacts. Thailand, as a transit and destination country for Indonesian human trafficking victims, poses significant challenges in repatriation efforts. The Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Bangkok plays a crucial role in providing protection, including repatriating victims to Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the role of KBRI Bangkok in facilitating the repatriation of Indonesian human trafficking victims in Thailand.
This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with KBRI Bangkok staff, document reviews, and analysis of reports on human trafficking. The theoretical framework used is constructivism, emphasizing the role of identity, norms, and ideas in international relations. State-level analysis and the theory of citizen protection were also applied to understand the diplomatic dynamics undertaken by KBRI.
The findings reveal that KBRI Bangkok serves not only as a diplomatic representative but also as a critical actor in facilitating the repatriation and recovery processes for trafficking victims. However, various challenges such as differences in legal systems between countries and bureaucratic constraints remain significant obstacles. This study recommends enhancing international cooperation and diplomatic capacity to address human trafficking cases more effectively.
