Efektivitas Komunikasi Akun Instagram @Ssc_Riau Dalam Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Informasi Pembangunan Di Riau Bagi Followers

The need for information is one of the essential aspects of human life. While Instagram was once regarded merely as an entertainment platform, it has now evolved into a medium for fulfilling informational needs. This opportunity is utilized by the SkyscraperCity community through their Instagram page, @ssc_riau. This account become platform for accessing information about development in Riau Province. The theoretical framework used in this research is the communication effectiveness concept by Andre Hardjana. The study aims to determine the level of communication effectiveness of the @ssc_riau Instagram account in meeting the informational needs about development in Riau for its followers.
This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive research type. The research method used is a survey method, and the data collection technique was carried out by distributing online questionnaires via Google Forms to 100 followers of the Instagram account @ssc_riau, determined by probability sampling.
The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness level of communication on the Instagram account @ssc_riau in fulfilling the information needs of development in Riau for its followers is classified as very effective. This is proven by data collected using communication effectiveness indicators by Andre Hardjana, namely the Message Receiver indicator with a score of 4.37, the Message Content indicator with a score of 4.16, the Channel indicator with a score of 4.43, the Message Format indicator with a score of 4.44, the Message Source indicator with a score of 4.19, and the Timeliness indicator with a score of 4.41. The average score of these six indicators is 4.33, which shows that the effectiveness of communication on the Instagram account @ssc_riau in fulfilling the information needs of development in Riau for its followers is rated as Very Effective.
