Representasi Pendewasaan Kepribadian Pada Lirik Lagu “End Of Beginning” Karya Djo

The rise of issues and discussions about personality maturation on social media TikTok and Instagram has led to a number of musicians raising similar topics, such as reflections and reminders of the past, sacrifices that have been made, changes experienced, and hopes for the future. Music is related to human character, and based on this assumption, music can also be used to describe the process of maturation of human personality. The song "End of Beginning" by Djo explores themes of change, personal growth, and reflection on the past. This song is a different song amidst the growing phenomenon of songs with themes of love and heartbreak. In understanding the meaning of song lyrics, scientific discipline skills are needed to understand the meaning message in the song lyrics. This research aims to determine the meaning of the denotation, connotation and myth of personality maturation in the song "End of Beginning" by Djo.
This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a semiotic approach. Data collection techniques were carried out using non-participant observation and literature study. The data analysis technique uses a semiotic theory model developed by Roland Barthes by looking for signs in the song lyrics that are in accordance with the research problem formulation, namely looking for the meaning of denotation, connotation and myth in the song lyrics. The data validity technique uses data triangulation.
The research results show that the denotational meaning describes someone who is able to control emotions, make sacrifices, have social ties, and accept the reality of the past and is ready to move on to the future. The connotation meaning of this song is that Djo describes how experience and learning can influence personality maturation by involving self-control and emotions, sacrifices and experiences that teach us about life in ways that we may not realize at first, trust and cooperation with other people that can help they grow and develop and are ready to let go of the past and move forward to achieve their goals. The myth in this song refers to the Eccedentesis phenomenon that occurs in society, the myth that every human being is always faced with a choice and a sacrifice that must be accepted. The myth that humans are social creatures. As well as myths that describe the phenomenon of wandering in society.
