Strategi Komunikasi Kelompok Tegas Dalam Meningkatkan Kesadaran Dan Keterlibatan Masyarakat Terhadap Mitigasi Abrasi Wilayah Pesisir Di Desa Anak Setatah Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti
Abrasion is a natural process that causes coastal erosion and impacts the environment. The Meranti Islands Regency in the Riau coast is one of the areas severely affected by abrasion. The Tegas Group in Anak Setatah Village serves as an example of successful abrasion mitigation. They use communication strategies to raise public awareness about the importance of environmental conservation, particularly mangrove planting. This research aims to explore the communicant strategies implemented by the Tegas Group, including audience targeting strategies, message strategies, media selection strategies, and audience response.
The research employs a qualitative. The study was conducted in Anak Setatah Village, Rangsang Barat District, Meranti Islands Regency. The subjects of the research consisted of five individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was the Huber and Miles model. Data validity was ensured using triangulation and extended participation.
The results of this study indicate that the communication strategies employed by the Tegas Group were successful in increasing public awareness and engagement in coastal abrasion mitigation in Anak Setatah Village. This success was achieved through the selection of appropriate communicators, accurate targeting of audiences, clear and persuasive message crafting, effective media selection, and monitoring audience responses. The Tegas Group effectively utilized competent and trusted communicators, targeted various age groups, used simple language in their messaging, and leveraged both traditional and electronic media. Positive responses from the community indicate an increase in awareness and participation in abrasion mitigation efforts, making the communication strategies of the Tegas Group a model that can be applied by other group facing similar challenges.
