Komunikasi Penyuluhan Tentang Sistemverifikasi Legalitas Kayu (Slvk) Oleh Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Dan Kehutanan Provinsi
The dissemination of the Timber Legality Assurance System (SVLK) is a strategic effort to ensure legal and sustainable forest management while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian wood products in global markets. This study aims to analyze the impact of communication strategies implemented by the Environmental and Forestry Agency (DLHK) of Riau Province in promoting SVLK, using Harold Lasswell's communication model. The findings indicate that approaches such as seminars, workshops, and media publications have been effective in improving the understanding and compliance of businesses and communities regarding SVLK.
These communication strategies have not only increased compliance but also empowered local communities, boosted the competitiveness of wood products in international markets, and strengthened environmental sustainability. A significant reduction in illegal activities, such as illegal logging, is one of the positive outcomes of effective SVLK implementation. However, the study also highlights several challenges, including a shortage of extension workers, geographical barriers, and inadequate infrastructure, particularly in remote areas.
To address these challenges, enhanced coordination among stakeholders, training for extension workers, and infrastructure development in remote regions are needed. This study emphasizes the importance of cross-sector collaboration to ensure the long-term sustainability of the SVLK program from both environmental and economic perspectives. Strengthening these efforts will improve the effectiveness of dissemination and support better forest management in Riau Province.
