Adolescence is one of the phases in the span of human development that stretches from the child is still in the womb until death (life span development). Adolescence has different characteristics from the period before or after because of the various things that influence it. In addition, adolescence in terms of the human life span is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. Adolescence offers many opportunities for growth, not only in physical dimensions, but also in cognitive and emotional competencies of autonomy, self-esteem, and intimacy.
Adolescent self-efficacy is also influenced by 3 aspects. The first aspect of task difficulty, namely; teenagers will try behaviors that they think they can do. The second aspect is the breadth of the behavioral field, namely; teenagers' belief in their ability to deal with various situations of task difficulty. The third aspect is the stability of beliefs, namely; the ability of teenagers to encourage themselves to survive in difficult situations. Differences in the level of self-efficacy of adolescent children are influenced by several factors. There are 4 factors that influence it, namely the nature of the task faced by the individual, the individual's external incentives, the individual's status in the environment, and information about self-ability. These four aspects show that teenagers' self-efficacy is also influenced by external parties, not only from within teenagers.
This research raises the issue of Self-Efficacy of Adolescents of Riau Indah Lestari Housing Complex, Tuah Karya Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, with the following objectives; (1) Knowing and analyzing the level of Self-Efficacy of Adolescents of Riau Indah Lestari Housing Complex, Tuah Karya Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, (2) Knowing and analyzing the level of Self-Efficacy of Adolescents of Riau Indah Lestari Housing Complex, Tuah Karya Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City based on respondent demographics.
Then this type of research is descriptive research using quantitative methods. The population in this study were 84 teenagers of Riau Indah Lestari Housing Complex, Tuah Karya Village, Tampan District, Pekanbaru City, and the research sample was 46 teenagers. Furthermore, the data collection technique in this study was obtained by giving a questionnaire (questionnaire), with a research trial conducted on 30 teenagers from the remaining population. Data analysis techniques used in this research are descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis.
The results of the study found that: (a) Based on descriptive analysis, the level of self-efficacy is obtained with a mean of 3.91 which is in the high interpretation. And the results of descriptive analysis based on each indicator are also high with an overall mean value of 3.8391. (b) Based on the analysis of demographic factors, the respondents' self-efficacy of adolescents obtained high results, namely with a mean of 3.82, this proves that demographic factors (gender, age, and education) can determine the high and low self-efficacy.
