Komunikasi Kesehatan Perkumpulan Keluarga Berencana Indonesia Daerah Riau Dalam Meningkatkan Partisipasi pada Program Community Based Screening
Riau Province faces major challenges in dealing with HIV/AIDS, with a total of 3,809 cases recorded to date. Of these, more than 64% of cases are in Pekanbaru City, making it the region with the highest HIV rate in Riau. Although prevention and control efforts have been made, total elimination has not yet been achieved. The main problem in health communication is ineffective message delivery, such as the use of technical language that is difficult to understand, an approach that is not sensitive to the needs of Female Sex Workers, and reinforced stigma that reduces their understanding of the importance of screening, so that participation in health services is hampered. Health communication based on the Social Behavior Change Communication model has the potential to increase awareness of Female Sex Workers regardig the importance of HIV screening, as well as encourage them to participate in Community-Based Prevention programs.
Therefore, this study aims to analyze the Health Communication of the Indonesian Family Planning Association in Riau in Increasing Participation in Community Based Screening in terms of Advocacy, Social Mobilization and Education Aspects. This study uses a qualitative case study method with 7 informants determined through the Purposive technique. Data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation were analyzed through the process of classification, reduction, and description, which were then compiled into research results.
The results of this study indicate that there has been an increase in achievement in the Community Based Screening program for Female Sex Workers, which is driven by three main aspects in Social Behavior Change Communication. In the advocacy aspect, stakeholder support, strengthening of partnership communication networks, and the influence of Key Opinion Leaders play a role in creating policies and allocating resources that support program implementation. The social mobilization aspect, namely the dialogue community, participation of Female Sex Workers, and increasing self-resilience strengthens their motivation and involvement in the program. In the education aspect, interpersonal and group communication also changes the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of Female Sex Workers regarding screening, and strengthens collective motivation to participate. These three aspects as a whole contribute to increasing the participation of Female Sex Workers in the Community Based Screening program.
