Hubungan Antara Self-Efficacy dengan Kemampuan Membaca Pemahaman Siswa Kelas Tinggi Sekolah Dasar
This study aims to analyze the level of self-efficacy and reading comprehension skills of students and identify the relationship between the two among upper-grade elementary school students. This research employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consists of all fifth-grade students at SDN 147 Pekanbaru, with a sample of 66 students selected using cluster random sampling. The instruments used include a questionnaire to measure self-efficacy and a test to assess reading comprehension skills. Data were analyzed using prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing with the assistance of SPSS version 27 software. The results of the study indicate that students' self-efficacy and reading comprehension skills are categorized as good. Moreover, there is a positive and significant relationship between self-efficacy and reading comprehension skills, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The correlation coefficient obtained is 0.420, which falls into the moderate category. Self-efficacy contributes 18% to students' reading comprehension skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the higher the students' self-efficacy, the better their reading comprehension skills.
