This article examines the role of Indonesian Republic Radio Pekanbaru in the rebellion of the Indonesian Revolutionary Republic government in Riau in 1957 to 1958. The problems examined in this article are about the process of PRRI in Riau and how the role of Indonesian Republic Radio Pekanbaru played a role in taking part in it. convey information to the people of Riau through radio broadcasts, as well as what the impacts were after the PRRI incident occurred. The author studies it with a qualitative approach and uses Louis Gottschalk's historical research methods which include heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. Radio Republik Indonesia Pekanbaru took part in conveying information about the PRRI events which were taking place at that time, and since taking part in the PRRI events, Radio Republik Indonesia Pekanbaru began to be known by the people of Riau and began its existence in the world of broadcasting in Riau.
