Representasi Sensualitas Perempuan Dalam Video Klip NXDE
Women in their image in the media and in society are always visualized to be attractive and alluring through beautiful faces, melodious voices, and good bodies. This depiction of women in the media eventually leads to a sexual context and objectification of women in the form of pornography escalation through their sensuality. The rise of content and cases of sensuality utilization involving women on social media made one of the 4th generation K-Pop stars, G-IDLE, voice this phenomenon through his song entitled Nxde. This research aims to analyze the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myth of female sensuality by G-IDLE in the Nxde video clip.
This research uses descriptive-qualittaive methods with semantic approach. There are 8 data analysis units from total of 26 scenes in this video clip. Data collection techniques are carried by non-participant observation, documentation, and literature study. Data analysis techniques use the semiotic theory model developed by Roland Barthes through 3 levels of meaning, namely denotation, connotation, and myth. In data validity uses data triangulation.
The results of this study show that there are three different meanings of female sensuality by G-IDLE in the Nxde video clip from Roland Barthes' three levels of semiotic meaning. First, the denotation meaning shows beautiful women who make sensual movements to attract attention. Second, the connotation meaning shows that female sensuality is part of self-expression in loving oneself, not to be objectified or exploited. Third, the myth shows that some typical women, such as blondes in the depiction of Marilyn Monroe, tend to be considered stupid and only emphasize their sensuality.
