The subject of the research is the song lyrics text, while the object is Ferdinand de Saussure's theory of signifiers, the signified, and syntagmatic and paradigmatic relations. Data collection was carried out through non-participant observation and documentation, followed by four stages of data analysis: data collection, reduction, presentation, and verification, with the
data analysis units divided into four stanzas.
The results of this research are as follows: First, the meaning of the signifier and signified in the lyrics of "Lampu Merah" by The Lantis, based on Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic analysis, depicts the quarter-life crisis phase, including external pressures, anxiety, and the importance of social support. Second, in syntagmatic and paradigmatic terms, the word choices in the song reflect a complex emotional journey, including feelings of being left behind and disappointment, yet still conveying optimism that these life challenges are temporary. The use of synonyms may change the nuance conveyed, but the essence of hope and support remains consistent.
