Pengaruh Komunikasi Visual Doodle Art Pada Instagram @Wantja Terhadap Literasi Kesehatan Mental Followers
Instagram social media has become an effective platform for disseminating mental health information through various forms of visual content. One Instagram account that actively utilizes visual communication to educate followers about mental health is @wantja. The selection of this topic is based on the increasing public need for mental health information that is easily understood and accessed, as well as the phenomenon of effective visual communication media usage in social media. Based on the Stimulus-Response (S-R) theory, which explains that media has immediate and direct effects on its audience, where visual content in the form of Doodle Art can act as a stimulus that triggers responses in the form of increased understanding and mental health literacy among the account's followers. This study aims to examine the influence of visual communication in the form of Doodle Art on @wantja's Instagram account on the mental health literacy level of its followers.
This study uses a quantitative approach with an online survey method. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 100 active followers of the @wantja Instagram account who were selected using a simple random sampling technique. The independent variable Doodle Art visual communication is measured through six indicators: Ambiguity and Meaning, Control of Direction, Ecological Relationship, Tension, Unity, and Realism. Meanwhile, the dependent variable mental health literacy is measured by three indicators: Knowledge, Belief, and Resource. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression to test the research hypothesis.
The research results show that Doodle Art visual communication has a positive and significant influence on the mental health literacy of followers, as evidenced by the calculated t value (13.166) > t table (1.692) and a significance value of less than
0.001. The R square value of 0.639 shows that Doodle Art visual communication contributes 63.9% to followers' mental health literacy, while 36.1% is influenced by other factors. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Doodle Art as a form of visual communication has strong potential in increasing mental health literacy among social media users, especially on the Instagram platform. These findings emphasize the importance of implementing attractive and informative visual content in conveying information about mental health.
