Perbandingan Kinerja Mesin Pengkondisian Udara Tanpa Dan Dengan Water Heater Menggunakan Refrigeran Hidrokarbon
Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate, characterized by relatively high air temperatures and humidity levels, which can affect indoor comfort. To maintain comfortable indoor conditions, air conditioning systems are used. The refrigerant employed is hydrocarbon refrigerant, which has a low global warming potential, does not harm the ozone layer, and can be directly replaced (drop-in substitute). Typically, the heat discharged by air conditioning systems has a high temperature and is usually not utilized, instead being released into the environment. To make use of the waste heat from the condenser, it can be applied as a water heater. This study compares the performance of air conditioning systems without and with a water heater using hydrocarbon refrigerant, as well as analyzing the effect of varying cooling loads on the heated water. In the performance testing of air conditioning systems without and with a water heater, the same cooling load will be applied in a simulated room, specifically without cooling load and with cooling loads of 1000 W, 2000 W, and 3000 W. Data collection will be carried out for 5 minutes over a period of 120 minutes, and the room temperature will be set to 16°C at the evaporator. The test results indicate that the compressor power with the water heater is higher, but the heat capacity discharged by the condenser, cooling capacity, and COP are lower compared to systems without a water heater. The water temperature reaches 45.4°C at a 3000 W load.
