Analisis Kualitas Produksi Kertas Menggunakan Metode Six Sigma Dan Kaizen Di Converting 1 Finishing Department (Studi Kasus: Pt. Riau Andalan Pulp And Paper)
PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper (PT. RAPP) is a company engaged in the pulp and paper industry. The finishing department is a part of the production process at the final stage that functions to convert paper from jumbo rolls into cut size, folio size, or customer size. The problem with the paper production results in converting 1 is the large number of product rejects caused by the production process on the sheeter machine so that the production target is not achieved. The rejects identified on the sheeter machine are slab paper, trim loss, change onput, during running, roll problem, excess empty core, and product on the floor. The purpose of this study is to identify the DPMO and sigma value in the Finishing Department of PT. Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper, analyze the causes of paper production quality experiencing rejects (defects) in the paper production process, and formulate recommendations for controlling paper production quality with the kaizen 5W+1H. Quality control is carried out using the six sigma and kaizen methods. The results of calculating the DPMO of paper production at converting 1, the average DPMO is 5,917.05 tons for one million productions with a sigma conversion result of 4.05. Seen from the sigma conversion table, PT. RAPP is equivalent to production in the United States. Based on the analysis of the cause and effect diagram, the biggest factor causing paper production quality to experience trim loss rejects includes human factors, machine factors, method factors, and material factors. The kaizen 5W+1H method analysis produces improvement proposals, namely conducting training according to employee focus, providing motivation for the importance of quality control, checking machine components, making a machine calibration schedule, inspecting and replacing dull blades, conducting inspections and setting strict quality controls.
