Analisis Resepsi Khalayak Terhadap Konten Hedonisme Pada Akun Tiktok Adeline Margaret
Tiktok is a social media platform that allows its users to create short videos with various themes lasting 15-60 minutes or even more, accompanied by various interesting features such as music, stickers, filters and other interesting features. One of the Tiktok accounts that went viral and became controversial was Adeline Margaret's Tiktok account. The content created by Adeline Margaret reflects a luxurious and excessive lifestyle. Based on researchers' observations, this has also become controversial for the TikTok user audience, especially those who watch Adeline's content. For this reason, the meaning and acceptance of this audience is interesting for further research.
This research is a qualitative descriptive study that focuses on reception analysis. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews via direct messages on Tiktok and documentation in the form of screenshots from interviews with informants. The data analysis technique used is the reception analysis method which consists of data collection, analysis, interpretation and reception. In the research, the data validity checking technique uses source triangulation.
The research results showed that one in seven informants was in the dominant reading, because the informant received the content as entertainment content and said that the content was informative and interesting. Furthermore, there were two informants who were in a negotiated reading because the informants felt that the content created by Adeline was excessive, but as long as the content did not harm other people, there was no problem. Furthermore, four informants were in an oppositional reading because the informants rejected and understood that the content created by Adeline was excessive, had a negative influence and was contrary to the informant's background. This difference in reception is influenced by the experiential, cultural, social and philosophical factors of the informants in their perception of the hedonistic content in Adeline Margaret's account.
