Efektivitas Penggunaan Limbah Batu Bara (FlyAsh) Dan Arang Cangkang Kelapa Sawit Untuk Mereduksi Resistansi Pentanahan
Grounding is an important component in an electric power system to ensure security, equipment safety, environmental safety and the safety of people around. The smaller the ground resistance value, the greater the ability to flow current to the ground so that current flows to the ground, because current prefers smaller resistance. Ideal grounding has a resistance value close to zero. One of the factors for obtaining a small grounding resistance value is the location of the electrode to be planted and the soil conditions in the area where the grounding system will be installed. The aim of this research is to make a comparison to reduce the grounding resistance as small as possible. Measurement of ground resistance using an Earth Tester Type Duoyi DY4300B measuring instrument with a 4 cable measurement method. The 4 cable measurement method is a measurement method carried out using 1 ground electrode and 2 auxiliary electrodes or spikes available from the measuring instrument. The results of the research that has been carried out are the use of Fly ash and activated charcoal respectively mixed with soil as a grounding medium, effectively reducing the resistivity value of the ground by 69.6 and 69.4%. This shows that Fly ash material is better as a grounding medium than activated palm oil charcoal. The use of Fly ash mixed with activated charcoal is significantly more effective as a grounding medium than Fly ash or activated charcoal alone, seen from the reduction in resistance of only 79.3%.
