Sintesis Zeolit Dari Lempung Maredan Dengan Impregnasi Nikel Dan Kobalt Untuk Aplikasi Penyerapan Co2

Maredan clay is synthesized to produce zeolites that can be utilized as adsorbents in adsorbing CO2. This research aims to synthesize zeolite from Maredan clay due to its high SiO2 and Al2O3 content. Maredan clay was characterized using XRF to determine the oxide content in it. The method used in the synthesis of zeolite is alkaline hydrothermal fusion by mixing NaOH solids and Maredan clay 1:1 and continued the heating process with a variation of hydrothermal time of 20 and 24 at 100°C. Zeolites were characterized using XRD, FTIR, then impregnated with Nickel and Cobalt metals and tested for adsorption using the CO2 TPD method using a Chemisrob 2750 Micromeritics instrument. XRF results of Maredan clay obtained SiO2 content of 33.293% and Al2O3 18.041%. XRD data on zeolites showed the presence of the highest dominant peak, namely sodalite zeolite and the formation of zeolite Y peaks appearing at angles 2θ = 6º-40º, with significant peaks at angles 2θ = 6º, 13º, and 20º at a hydrothermal time variation of 24 hours. FTIR results showed the presence of D4R or D6R double rings at wave numbers 650-500 cm-1. The adsorption test results of zeolites that are not impregnated with Nickel and Cobalt metals obtained an adsorption capacity of 0.0669 mmol/g, while zeolites impregnated with Nickel metal obtained an adsorption capacity of 0.1419 mmol/g and zeolites impregnated with Cobalt metal obtained an adsorption capacity of 0.0592 mmol/g.
