Peran Public Relations Dalammengelola Krisis Untuk Mempertahankan Citra Perusahaan Di Pt Rohul Sawit Industri

The crisis is a serious threat to the sustainability of companies, including in the palm oil industry sector. PT Rohul Sawit Industri, one of the palm oil processors, faced allegations of environmental pollution due to factory waste polluting river water and the environment. This issue led to negative perceptions from the community and media coverage that resulted in demonstrations and the temporary suspension of the company's operations by the local government. This condition reflects the importance of the role of Public Relations in managing crises to restore public trust and maintain the company's image. This research aims to analyze the role of Public Relations in crisis management at PT Rohul Sawit Industri.

The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Consists of 6 informants who were selected purvosively. Data collection was done through interviews, documentation, and observation. Data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with data validity tested through triangulation.

The results show that the role of Public Relations is very important in managing crises, especially through efforts to build transparent communication, plan mitigation strategies, and respond to public complaints. The strategies implemented include strengthening internal and external communications, publicizing crisis management measures, and managing issues through the media. Public Relations also acts as a liaison between the company and the public to create good relationships through company programs. This shows that the success of crisis management is highly dependent on the ability of Public Relations to overcome the crisis proactively, restore public trust, and maintain the sustainability of the company's positive image. With proper crisis management implementation, PT Rohul Sawit Industri can minimize the negative impact of environmental pollution issues on its operations and reputation.
