Struktur Komunitas Gulma Di Perkebunan Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis Guineensis Jacq.) Desa Gunung Mulya Kecamatan Gunung Sahilan Sebagai Rancangan Buku Saku Pada Materi Ekosistem Kelas X Sma
Oil palm is a plantation crop that has an important role in the economy in Indonesia because palm oil is the main commodity that produces vegetable oil. Palm oil production in Indonesia in 2021 will reach 46.22 million tons and palm oil production in Riau province will reach 8.62 million tons. So that palm oil has become a plantation commodity that plays an important role in the economy in Indonesia as a fairly large foreign exchange contributor. However, in the cultivation of oil palm plants, there is one factor that can influence the growth and productivity of oil palm plants, namely the presence of weeds which can affect the growth and productivity of oil palm plants.
This research is descriptive research carried out in April-June 2024 which consists of 2 stages, namely the stage of collecting data on the composition of types and community structure of weeds on oil palm plantations and the stage of designing a pocket book on Ecosystem material. The data collection method used was a survey using purposive sampling techniques in determining the research location. Observation data was collected using the quadratic method by making a plot measuring 2 x 2 m.
Plant identification refers to several plant identification books and plant type identification applications. Apart from collecting observation and identification data, environmental parameters were measured. The parameters observed in this research include biological parameters and environmental physico-chemical parameters. Biological parameters consist of the species composition and structure of the weed community which includes density, relative density, frequency, relative frequency, importance value index and diversity index. Environmental physico-chemical parameters include air temperature, light intensity, soil pH and soil temperature. The research data was then used as a design for teaching materials in the form of a pocket book on Ecosystems.
The research results obtained showed that the weeds found in the oil palm plantations in Gunung Mulya village consisted of 27 families, 41 types and 4685 individuals. The highest proportion in oil palm plantations is from the Poaceae
iv
family, namely 24.22%. The highest Importance Value Index (INP) found in the Gunung Mulya Village oil palm plantation at station I was Eleusine indica at 23.60%, at station II was Ageratum conyzoides at 21.58%, and at station III was Nephrolepis biserrata at 37.07%. The diversity index at the three stations is categorized as medium, with the highest diversity index at station I, namely 2.85, then at station II 2.64, and the lowest diversity index at station III, namely 2.44. The results of research on the structure of weed communities in oil palm plantations that have been carried out can be used as a design for a pocket book on ecosystem material for class X SMA.
