Rancangan Pabrik Dimethyl Terepthalate Teknologi Dynamit-nobel dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Kolom Gelembung p-Toluic acid (R-101)
ABSTRACT
The polymer industry is one of the basic materials industries that is quite popular because of its widespread use in life. The development of the polymer industry began in 1839, with the discovery of vulcanization by Charles Goodyear. Until 1970 there were more than 25 polymer products produced and this continues to increase to this day. The important role of polymers in life makes it possible for the presence of basic materials industries, in order to reduce dependence on imported products. The polymer industry is one of the basic materials industries used to produce household appliances, clothing and other daily necessities. One of the basic ingredients used for the polymer industry is dimethyl terephthalate (DMT). Dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) is a dimethyl ester from the processing of terephthalic acid which has been esterified using methanol. The reason is that DMT increases every year, reaching 4% in Indonesia and globally, almost 98% use DMT as a basic material for producing various types of polymers. The DMT factory will be established in Jenu District, Tuban City, East Java Province in 2024 with a production capacity of 40,000 tons/year.
The process used is the dynamite-nobel process which can produce dimethyl terepthalate Rwith a purity of 99%. The process stages used include the raw material preparation stage, product formation stage, phase separation stage, and product purification stage. The DMT factory's electricity needs are supplied from PT. PLN Tuban City with a total electricity need of 12,000 kW/hour. The water source used in designing the DMT factory comes from river water, Tuban is used for cooling, heating, steam generation, process water, hydrant water, drinking water and other domestic needs with a total water requirement of 21858,833 kg/hour. Liquid waste is produced from laboratory waste and domestic waste, workshop waste with a total waste flow rate of 12100.96819 kg/hour.
The calculation results obtained for the IRR value were 22,727%, BEP obtained 50%, and NPV obtained Rp. 413,363,236,571. Based on the economic feasibility analysis that has been carried out, it shows that the DMT factory is feasible to establish. The results.
