Pengaruh Fitur Chat Game Genshin Impact Terhadap Komunikasi Hyperpersonal Pemain Pada Komunitas Genshin Impact Indonesia Official Di Facebook
Hyperpersonal communication is a form of interpersonal communication mediated by digital technology, characterized by anonymity, message control, intimacy, and social selectivity. In the context of online gaming, hyperpersonal communication allows players to form more intimate and controlled relationships despite physical limitations. One example of an online game that utilizes this type of communication is Genshin Impact. This game not only offers an engaging gaming experience but also provides a chat feature that facilitates communication between players. The Genshin Impact Indonesia Official community on Facebook serves as the primary space for players to interact and share experiences. This study aims to analyze the influence of the chat feature in Genshin Impact on hyperpersonal communication among players within this community. The conceptual framework of this study uses the Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) theory and Social Presence Theory to understand the dynamics of communication occurring through the chat feature.
The research method used is an explanatory quantitative approach, with data collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 400 respondents. The data collected was analyzed using simple linear regression and coefficient of determination tests, with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 27 for Windows.
The results of the study show that the chat feature in Genshin Impact significantly influences hyperpersonal communication, with a correlation value (R) of 0.620, and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.384. This indicates that the chat feature contributes 38.4% to hyperpersonal communication, while the remaining 61.6% is influenced by other factors not covered in this study
