Penerapan Kit Fisika Berbasis Etnosains Menggunakan Alat Tradisional Melayu Riau Untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa Pada Materi Pesawat Sederhana Kelas Viii Smp
This research aims to use an ethnoscience-based physics KIT that combines indigenous Riau Malay methods for learning concepts. This research seeks to improve students' science processing abilities. The ethnoscience approach is used to explain modern scientific concepts with local wisdom, to maintain local culture and increase students' understanding of the subject matter. This research used a Quasi Experimental method with a posttest-only control group design, involving class VIII students at SMPN 23 Pekanbaru who were divided into experimental classes (using ethnoscience-based physics KIT) and control classes (using conventional methods). The results showed that experimental class students obtained an average science process skills score of 74 ("High" category), higher than the control analysis class which only achieved an average score of 59 ("Medium" category), with inferential results showing significant differences. significant (0.01 < 0.05). This ethnoscience-based physics KIT provides students with a more contextual and in-depth learning experience by utilizing traditional equipment such as pulleys, levers and inclined planes to connect learning with everyday life and local culture. Thus, the ethnoscience-based physics KIT has proven to be effective in improving students' science process abilities while maintaining Riau Malay culture, so that it becomes an innovative media for learning basic aviation material that is relevant and useful.
