Pengaruh Jumlah Penduduk, Tingkat Upah, Dan Tingkat Pendidikan Terhadap Tingkat Kemiskinan Di Pulau Sumatera
ABSTRACT
This research aims to determine the influence of population number, wage level and education level on poverty on the island of Sumatra in 2013-2023. The data used in this study is secondary data that is time series. Quantitative research analysis in writing this thesis uses a multiple linear regression econometric model with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method and statistical tests including the F test, t test, and R square, as well as classical assumption tests. The results of this research showed that the number of population had a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate, the level of education had a negative and insignificant effect on the poverty rate, and the wage level had a positive and insignificant effect on the poverty rate. The higher the population and the level of education can reduce the poverty rate, while the increasing wage level is not directly proportional to the reduction of the poverty rate. This is influenced by the increasing prices of goods that are not in accordance with people's purchasing power. The influence caused by independent variables on the dependent variable (R²) is 96%, while the remaining 4% can be influenced by other factors other than the variables in this research.
