Pengujian Turbin Ventilator Berukuran 12 Inci Sebagai Penggerak Generator Dc Untuk Menghasilkan Daya Listrik Skala Mikro
ABSTRACT
This research aims to utilize the rotation of a 12-inch Ventilator Turbine to drive a DC generator. The rotation of the 12-inch Ventilator Turbine can generate micro-scale electrical power by harnessing the wind speed potential at the testing location, which is the Faculty of Engineering building at the University of Riau. The electricity produced by the ventilator turbine can be used as an alternative energy source for charging small-capacity, low-power batteries. The design of the power generation system using the ventilator turbine to drive the DC generator is expected to enhance energy independence at the micro-scale level. In this study, the transmission system used consists of a belt and pulley, with a dynamo serving as the DC generator. This research focuses on the effect of wind speed at the testing site on the electrical power output and efficiency of the 12-inch ventilator turbine. Testing was conducted over three days without LED lights and three days with LED lights. The results show that as wind speed increases, both the wind power and the DC generator power output increase. The generated electrical power can be used for charging batteries with low power requirements. The highest system efficiency for the 12-inch Ventilator Turbine was achieved at a wind speed of 3 m/s during the tests without LED lights.
