Pembuatan Dan Pengujian Turbin Aliran Vortex Dengan Sudu Berbentuk Rumah Keong
ABSTRACT
Currently, humans really need energy for survival. Where on this earth the most widely used energy is fossil energy. Dependence on the use of fossil energy makes its availability increasingly depleted. Therefore, humans are looking for alternative renewable energy to replace fossil energy, namely water. Water can be utilized for its potential to drive power plants. One of the power plants is a vortex turbine. This research aims to produce a vortex turbine with conch house-shaped blades. Then find the amount of turbine power, potential power, torque, and efficiency on this turbine. This research was tested by comparing conch house-shaped blades with flat and curved blades. The test was carried out with periodic loading 9 times until it reached its maximum. The highest efficiency was obtained in the conch house-shaped blade of 33.01% followed by a torque of 1.004 Nm and a turbine power of 7.64 watt. The lowest efficiency is found on flat blades of 6.96%. This can occur due to the influence of fins that make the flow of water on the blade more directed, so that not much water crashes out of the blade which inhibits rotation. This research yields quite good results because in these three blades, the highest efficiency is found in the conch house-shaped blade with the addition of fins.
