Pengujian Turbin Vortex Dengan Tipe Basin Kerucut Dan Basin Keong
ABSTRACT
Indonesia's topographical situation, which has many rivers and irrigation canals, has enormous water energy potential to be utilized and one of the uses is the vortex turbine. Therefore, development was carried out by adding a snail-shaped basin with varying fin lengths and a comparison was made with the cone basin. This snail-shaped basin has a basic shape like a conical basin but fins are added to the inside of the snail basin. This addition aims to see the effect of the presence of fins on the performance of the vortex turbine and determine the basin that has the most optimal performance. Experimental test of the vortex turbine with a variety of basin types, namely cone basin, 1 long fin snail basin, 3/4 long fin snail basin and 1/2 long fin snail basin with predetermined constant variables, namely flow discharge, namely 0.003 m3/s, position the blade from the top of the basin is 58 cm and the loading variations applied are 10 times until the turbine stops rotating. From the results of this test, it was found that the presence of fins can improve the performance of the vortex turbine because the presence of fins in the snail basin can direct the water flow to form a vortex and maintain the height of the vortex so that it can improve the performance of the vortex turbine. Longfin snail basin 1 has the most optimal performance where the highest efficiency that can be produced is 38.81% with a turbine power produced of 8,978 watts. There is a decrease in turbine performance as the fin length decreases in the conch basin and the cone basin has the lowest performance.
