Penentuan Sudut Kemiringan Dan Arah Optimum Panel Photovoltaic Untuk Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (Plts) Di Pekanbaru
ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the optimum tilt angle and orientation of photovoltaic
panels to increase the efficiency of solar power generation (PLTS) in Pekanbaru,
which has abundant solar energy potential. Experiments were conducted using four
monocrystalline PV panels with a capacity of 20 WP with tilt angles of 10°, 15°,
20°, and 25° and orientations of north, east, south, and west. Data were collected
over several days using calibrated measuring tools to ensure accuracy, and
analyzed using the Lagrange interpolation method and Newton iteration. The
results showed that the measuring tools used had volt meter measurement error
rates on panels 1, 2, 3, and 4 of 1.3%, 1.1%, 1.1%, 0.8% and ampere meter error
rates on panels 1, 2, 3, and 4 of 2.3%, 1.8%, 2.0%, 1.4%, respectively. The results
also show that the optimal direction of solar panels is south, where solar panels
facing south produce more power than other arrays. And by using the Lagrange
interpolation method and Newton iteration, the optimum compass angle is 178 with
an tilt angle of 14°. The conclusion of this study confirms that a southward
orientation with a compass angle of 178 and a tilt angle of 14° is the best
configuration to maximize the power of PV panels in Pekanbaru. In addition, the
Lagrange interpolation and Newton iteration methods proved effective in
determining the optimal angle. This research is expected to be an important
reference for the design of solar power plants in tropical regions as well as the
development of renewable energy technologies.
