Analisis Penurunan Produksi Energi Listrik Ac Di Plts 1-Mwp Cirata Tahun 2016 - 2023 Dengan Metode Root Cause Failure Analysis
ABSTRACT
Solar Power Plants (PLTS) are one of the primary solutions to meet the demand for clean energy; however, significant declines in energy production can reduce efficiency and their contribution to energy supply. This analysis was conducted to identify the main factors causing this decline, both from technical and environmental aspects. The data used include electricity production, solar irradiation intensity, and technical data of key components such as solar modules and inverters. The RCFA method was applied to identify the root causes of the problem using a systematic approach, starting from data collection, symptom identification, cause-effect analysis, to solution formulation. The study results showed that the main factor contributing to the decline in AC electricity production was string inverter damage, defined as a failure causing an energy production loss exceeding 30% and a decline in the performance of the 1-MWp Cirata PLTS system of over 30% during 2021 to 2023. Meanwhile, the energy production loss from the string inverter alone exceeded 50%, and the decline in system performance on the string inverter exceeded 50% during the same period. Additionally, most solar modules experienced visual degradation, and variations in solar radiation intensity due to weather changes and environmental factors also contributed to energy production fluctuations. String inverter damage originated from a malfunction in the inverter's synchronization relay, as they are interconnected, leading to further damage affecting the Insulated-Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT), which resulted in explosions or fires in the IGBT. Furthermore, the IGBT's lifetime was influenced by operational temperature. Moreover, the incompatibility of replacement relays with the inverter caused the inverter to overheat more quickly.
