Rancang Bangun Mekanisme Blade Motor Grader Skala 1:10 Dengan Penggerak Sistem Pneumatik
ABSTRACT
Heavy equipment is designed to facilitate human work that has a large enough scale, where this type of work is closely related to the soil. The types of work carried out by heavy equipment include land cultivators, soil diggers, transporters, movers, compactors, and final placement (finishing). The motor grader itself is included in the category of heavy equipment with a type of soil finishing work that utilizes a blade or knife to level and move the soil. In this study, blade design was carried out using a size reference from the original motor grader blade with a 1:10 reduction scale using 6061 Aluminum Alloy plate. After the design is made, testing will be carried out on the ability of the blade to shift a certain amount of silty fine sand and the ability to move the blade with a pneumatic drive system. The designed pneumatic blade circuit is based on the actual motor grader blade hydraulic mechanism with some modifications to the circuit to obtain a simpler pneumatic circuit with a working principle similar to the actual motor grader blade. A control system is applied to the pneumatic blade circuit that can be controlled remotely using a remote from an android smart phone. From the test results, it is known that the blade can be controlled like a real motor grader and is able to move and level the surface of small-scale silty fine sand. A pneumatic blade mechanism that can be controlled remotely or wirelessly can be obtained. The design of blade motor grader with pneumatic drive is one form of application of the pneumatic system on a mechanism to support hydraulic and pneumatic courses and mechatronics courses at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Riau University.
