Penerapan Metode Design For Assembly (Dfa) Pada Modifikasi Rangka Sepeda Motor Roda Tiga
ABSTRACT
Three-wheeled motorcycles are essential transportation for commercial activities, especially in hard-to-reach areas. Modifying two-wheeled motorcycles into three-wheeled ones requires an efficient and easy-to-assemble frame design. This study applies the Design For Assembly (DFA) method to simplify the design and improve assembly efficiency. The results show that the theoretical assembly time decreased from 1023.8 seconds (efficiency 44.83%) in the initial design to
532.66 seconds (efficiency 47.87%) in the final design. Practical testing by expert assemblers recorded 496.39 seconds (efficiency 51.37%), while non-expert assemblers recorded 644.06 seconds (efficiency 39.59%). The final design also reduced the total components from 153 parts to 85 parts, significantly simplifying the structure. The DFA method effectively improves efficiency, and serves as a guide for developing similar products.
