Pengaruh Penambahan Graphene Nanosheet 0,1 % Dan Variasi Konsentrasi Surfaktan Span 60 Terhadap Stabilitas Dispersi Dan Karakteristik Tribologi Pada Ester Sintetis Minyak Kelapa Sawit-Trimethylolpropane Sebagai Bio-Lubricant
ABSTRACT
This study investigated the tribological properties of vegetable lubricants formulated using synthetic esters based on palm oil (TMP), graphene nanosheets (0.1%wt), and varying compositions of Span 60 surfactant to optimize dispersion stability, viscosity, and coefficient of friction (COF). The results showed that graphene nanosheets increased viscosity at 40℃ and 100℃, while Span 60 increased viscosity index and dispersion stability although slightly decreased viscosity. Sample B0 without Span 60 showed the lowest COF (0.068), while samples with high surfactant concentration experienced graphene agglomeration, leading to the highest COF (0.082). Compared with conventional lubricants, GN-Span 60 lubricants showed superior performance, but an optimal balance is needed for best effectiveness. Further studies are needed to understand the molecular interactions and test the tribological properties under real-world conditions.
