ABSTRACT
Vertical motion hydraulic pipe bending equipment or also called edge bending uses the rotary draw bender method, with a hydraulic jack rod pushing and rotating the die so that it pulls the pipe until it bends following the path of the rotating die. This equipment is designed for continuous laboratory scale research. Bent pipes often experience deformation in the form of shrinkage at the inner corners which results in an uneven/wavy surface. This research aims to reduce deformation and ovality in pipes that are bent using edge bending tools with filler materials in the form of sand and wax. Results showed wax provided the best results in reducing deformation.
