Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Budidaya Burung Walet Di Kelurahan Kota Lama Kecamatan Kunto Darussalam Kabupaten Rokan Hulu
This study aims to understand the community's perception of swiftlet farming in Kota Lama Village, Kunto Darussalam Subdistrict, Rokan Hulu Regency, and its impacts on social, economic, and environmental aspects. The research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method supported by qualitative analysis. Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, and interviews involving a sample of 100 respondents, drawn from a population of 17,561 people using purposive sampling techniques. The findings reveal that the majority of the community is not disturbed by environmental factors such as odor (76%), the presence of swiftlet houses (74%), and noise (71%). However, 24-29% of respondents, particularly men and private homeowners, reported disturbances. Economically, the benefits are limited, with only 13% experiencing income growth and 21% finding job opportunities. Socially, there is a slight increase in interactions (12%), but also potential for conflicts (14%). The study concludes that better management of negative impacts, such as noise, waste, and conflicts, is necessary to enhance the economic and social benefits of swiftlet farming.
