Pengelolaan Warisan Budaya Togak Tonggol Di Kecamatan Langgam Kabupaten Pelalawan

Based on the phenomena in the field from 2019 to 2024, in terms of visitors, there is a lack of visitors to the Balimau Kasai Potang Mogang bathing activity, lack of community participation in efforts to preserve Togak Tonggol. In this study, the theories discussed are the concept of management, tourism management, understanding and concept of intangible cultural heritage, and intangible cultural heritage of Togak Tonggol in Langgam District and the concept of local wisdom. This study aims to analyze and evaluate the Management of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Togak Tonggol in Langgam District, Pelalawan Regency. Intangible cultural heritage is an important aspect in maintaining the identity and character of a community, but its management often faces various challenges. This study was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach, using interview, observation, and documentation techniques to collect data. The results of the study show that the management of the Togak Tonggol cultural heritage in Langgam District is not optimal. This is due to the lack of cooperation between the local government and the local community who should play an active role in the preservation and development of the culture. In addition, the low interest and participation of the community, especially the younger generation, is also an obstacle in the management of this cultural heritage. Without active participation from the local community, efforts to preserve this cultural heritage will be difficult to maintain. Another obstacle found in this study is the limited budget from the government which has an impact on limited infrastructure and promotional programs. Internal conflict within the management community is also an obstacle, both in the form of differences in interests and views on the direction of management. The lack of adequate information and promotion also contributes to the low public awareness of the importance of preserving the Togak Tonggol cultural heritage.
