Pengungkapan Diri Kalangan Dewasa Awal Melalui Aplikasi Quora

Self-disclosure among young adults through social media, particularly the Quora application, which is prone to misinformation and negative responses, has been increasing along with the development of digital technology.The aim of this research is to analyze forms of self-disclosure and communication privacy management among young adults in managing information on the Quora application. Using communication privacy management theory as a theoretical framework. Focuses on the basic elements of communication privacy management theory, namely privacy ownership, privacy control, and privacy turbulence
This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects in this research were three early adult users of the Quora application who were determined based on purposive techniques. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. In addition, data validity checking techniques use triangulation of sources and methods.
The results of the research show that early adult users of the Quora application make emotional disclosures containing the user's feelings, informational disclosures containing life experiences or views on a topik being discussed, then collaborative disclosures containing opinions that will be discussed together. As owners of information, Quora users choose the Quora application as a forum for self-disclosure because Quora is a powerful social media. Quora users exercise privacy control through the use of pseudonyms, sharing information based on experience, expressing feelings, and honesty and appropriateness in self-disclosure. Quora users do not experience major conflicts or information leaks on privacy turbulence.
