Analisa Stabilitas Dispersi, Viskositas Dan Koefisien Gesek Biolubricant Ester Minyak Sawit-Trimetilolpropana Dengan Penambahan Graphene Nanosheet Dan Variasi Surfaktan Span 60
ABSTRACT
Lubricants are widely used in mechanical systems to reduce energy loss and wear caused by friction. The problem of pollution to the environment caused by lubricants has attracted attention. Biolubricants are an alternative to lubricants that are clean for machines and renewable. To produce biolubricant is by transesterification. In this study, biolubricant was produced by varying the mixture of trimethylolpropane palm oil, graphene nanosheet, and span 60 surfactant using experimental methods. The purpose of this study was to determine the dispersion stability, viscosity and friction coefficient of biolubricant. By using four-ball tribotester as a test tool. It was shown that the dispersion stability of the three biolubricants was quite good and the sedimentation was below 30%. Adding 0.3% graphene nanosheet and variation of span 60 can reduce the viscosity of TMP ester biolubricant. The addition of span 60 percentage also reduces the viscosity of each biolubricant sample. The COF value of the biolubricant decreased and was lower than the biobase TMP ester. Conversely, the addition of span 60 percentage increased the COF value of the lubricant.
