Pengendalian Kerusakan Lingkungan Hidup Akibat Penambangan Emas Ilegal Di Kabupaten Kuantan Singingi
Humans and the environment are essentially a unified entity that should strengthen each other, as humans are highly dependent on the environment, while the environment also relies on human activities. However, from a human perspective, the environment is passive, whereas humans are active, making the quality of the environment highly dependent on the quality of humans. Therefore, it is crucial to be aware of environmental damage caused by gold mining to ensure that the environment remains well-preserved. The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of environmental damage control due to gold mining in Kuantan Singingi Regency and to identify the inhibiting factors faced by the Environmental Agency of Kuantan Singingi Regency in carrying out environmental damage control caused by gold mining in the region. This study employs a qualitative research approach. Various essential and additional information was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed to draw conclusions on current research issues. The findings on environmental damage control due to gold mining in Kuantan Singingi Regency indicate that these efforts have not been optimal.
