Pemanfaatan Akun Instagram @Dokpimpekanbaru Sebagaimedia Informasi Pimpinan Kota Pekanbaru
The Pekanbaru City Government is carrying out this digital transformation, one of which is through social media to carry out functions in its public relations department, namely Instagram. This is in accordance with the Public Relations function of the Pekanbaru City Government which is obliged to provide an understanding of the vision, mission and objectives of the city government as well as accommodate public aspirations as input in evaluating government policies, programs and activities through mass media as a form of information dissemination. As an official account for documenting the activities of Pekanbaru City government leaders. The aim of this research is to determine the use of the @dokpimpekanbaru Instagram account as an information medium for Pekanbaru City leaders.
This research method is a qualitative description using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Then use data analysis techniques by Miles and Huberman, namely the data reduction stage, drawing conclusions. Then using technical data validity checks, extended observations and triangulation. There were 7 informants in this study using purposive techniques
The results of the research are: Overall, the instagram account @dokpimpekanbaru has great potential as a public communication tool. By (1) improving feedback capabilities, (2) improving communication cues, (3) adapting to language variations, and (4) maintaining a consistent personal character, this account can be more effective in conveying information to the people of Pekanbaru. Regular evaluation of the communication strategy implemented is also very important to ensure that the content remains relevant and interesting to theaudience
