Gambaran Faktor Risiko Pada Kejadian Pterigium Di Rsud Natuna Tahun 2022-2024
Pterygium is a triangular-shaped growth of fibrovascular tissue that grows from the conjunctiva towards the cornea in the interpalpebra which is degenerative and invasive. According to the 2013 Riskesdas, the prevalence of pterygium in the Riau Islands was 5.8% and 5.0% in Natuna Regency. The aim of this study was to determine the incidence of pterygium, distribution and differences in age groups, gender, type of work, and history of using glasses which can influence the occurrence of pterygium in Natuna Hospital and was carried out in January 2024
- December 2024. This study used a retrospective descriptive design with cross- sectional approach. The total sample was 240 people selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. This research uses secondary data originating from medical records of pterygium sufferers at Natuna Hospital. The research results showed the age group in the range of 41-50 years was 66 (27.5%) subjects, most of the subjects were female as many as 138 (57.5%), the majority worked indoors as many as 174 (72.5%) and 194 (80.8%) did not use glasses. Subjects experiencing the highest level of severity (stage) was stage II, 109 (45.4%). It is hoped that this research will be used as a basis for conducting further research, for the community to carry out prevention and for agencies it can become educational material.
