Deforestation is a series of forestry crime activities (TIPIHUT) ranging from area claims, buying/selling areas, illegal logging, forest burning, oil palm planting, and finally, area occupation/settlement. This has led to prolonged conflicts, such as tenure conflicts and human-wildlife conflicts, which must be faced by the Tesso Nilo National Park Authority. This is the background of the research. The purpose of this research is to understand the performance of the Tesso Nilo National Park Office in managing conservation areas and to identify the factors hindering the performance of the Tesso Nilo National Park Office in managing conservation areas using the organizational performance theory according to Agus Dwiyanto. This research uses a qualitative type of descriptive research by collecting data through interviews, documentation, observation. The results of this study indicate that the performance of the Tesso Nilo National Park Office in the management of conservation areas has been quite good. The inhibitory factors are community resistance, infrastructure, high encroachment activity within the Tesso Nilo National Park, and the implementation of the internal control system has not been optimised.
